Oasis Retreats is an international ministry in its eighth year providing Soul Care to career Christian Leaders, both pastoral and missionary. As a part of Power to Change (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ, Canada), since its inception Oasis Retreats has provided 41, five day retreats. Due to the impending retirement of our founding Executive Director couple, we are looking for additional leadership for the Oasis Team. Oasis Retreats Executive Director

Full time position, reporting to Executive Director Of Ministries of Power to Change (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ, Canada)


I.  Tasks for this Position:

    Contact/Promotion/Marketing

  1. Develop Oasis Retreats to the point that in North America it is the preferred retreat providing soul care for couples and singles who have been emotionally and spiritually wounded in ministry.
  2. Lead in developing the international expansion of Oasis Retreats.
  3. Actively network with existing and potential Christian leaders about Oasis Retreats.
  4. Successfully market Oasis Retreats.
  5. Participate in existing structures to ensure that the ministry has a capital base to fund the operational expenses of the ministry.


  6. Future Development

  7. Create and execute a plan with Accountability Council approval for the national and international expansion of Oasis Retreats that will maintain agreed standards of quality of service at each individual retreat.
  8. Broaden our denominational/para-church ministries base, through methods that support the values and principles of Oasis Retreats.
  9. In association with the Executive Council of the ministry develop and execute a plan to ensure that Oasis Retreats are effectively funded without staff including the Director having to raise their own support.


  10. Administration

  11. Be accountable to the Accountability Council for the effective management of all finances associated with the ministry.
  12. Prepare an annual budget for approval by your Accountability Council, and presentation to Power to Change (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ, Canada)..
  13. Meet at least quarterly with your Accountability Council to account for progress of the Ministry, guidance and future planning.


  14. Retreat Preparation/Administration/Follow-up

  15. Ensure that each Oasis Retreat is delivered to the agreed standards.

II.  Requirements for this Position (Character, Experience & Gifting):

  1. Have good interpersonal and relational skills, in person, in groups, and on the phone. First impressions at all levels are important. Potential participants and denominational/mission leaders need to sense immediately your non-manipulative servant heart of genuine concern for the true SOUL CARE of the SPIRITUAL GATEKEEPERS of North America and the world.
  2. Have a track record of effective pastoral /missionary ministry working with multiple staff.
  3. We are looking for a “WOUNDED HEALER”. There should be understanding of or personal experience in the common process experienced by many leaders: a setting aside from normal ministry or leadership involvement due to involuntary causes for a period of time, having experienced the benefits of deep hurt and serious evaluation of life and ministry.
  4. Have a background in church or ministry leadership roles with a keen understanding of how denominations/missions and churches function. Should have the respect and the ability to work effectively with a whole range of evangelical denominations/missions, in the spirit of mutual respect and cooperation.
  5. Have a servant attitude and the desire to work as part of a team, with the sensitivity of realizing the importance of transitioning well from the founding leadership of OASIS RETREATS to taking over as the new Director. Should have the ability to draw on the strengths and resources of team members and the organization, and a deep desire to continue a healthy relationship with the previous leadership.
  6. Strong communication skills; the ability to speak articulately and effectively to groups and individuals.
  7. Consistent witness for Jesus Christ and a courteous attitude in dealing with people.
  8. Willingness to adhere to the standard of Moral Conduct and Statement of faith of Power to Change (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ, Canada).
  9. Capacity and willingness to use technology and be able to competently use the computer, including PowerPoint.
  10. Understands and facilitates the emotional/spiritual process that provides support and enables change for Oasis participants.
